Marginalia and creation: Legal Literature and Fiction

My proposal in this presentation involves understanding how language works inthe practice of legal creation from a structural and linguistic perspective. Such anapproach will allow a narratological understanding of the various cultural phenomenainvolved in legal creativity. At the outset, the analysis I will show is mostly one of thetheoretical implications. As I am aware of the distances between our objects, Iconsidered it appropriate to launch a general approach that will allow us to thinktogether about common problems and not dwell too much on technical issues in myfield that might distract from the most productive exercise we could have. Of course,there will be several examples from the Spanish world, due to my métier, specificallyfrom Siete Partidas, the legal work of the Castilian King Alfonso X, who reignedbetween 1252 and 1284 and the 1555 edition.
