Resumen:
Enterohemorrhagic Escherichia coli (EHEC) O157:H7 is a human pathogenresponsible for diarrhea, hemorrhagic colitis and hemolytic uremic syndrome(HUS). The infection by EHEC is widely distributed in the world and numerousoutbreaks of enterohemorrhagic disease were reported. Argentina is consideredthe country with the highest HUS incidence in the world [1]. Proteomic studiesshow that absolute quantitation of proteins present within a complex proteinmixture is extremely important for understating physiological adaptations inresponse to biological demands promoted by environmental changes. Thus in thisstudy, to promote the more comprehensive insight into physiological andpathogenesis molecular basis of EHEC O157:H7, we applied highthroughputproteomics, using TMT-based quantitative proteomic analysis toestimate the absolute abundance of EHEC O157:H7 proteome.
