Resumen:
"14 Casas Blancas" [14 white houses] was the first exhibition planned and made for the series "Arquitectura Argentina de hoy" [Argentinian Architecture Today] that took place in 1964 at the Museum of Modern Art in Buenos Aires. From this point onward, a set of architectural productions made in Argentina -and particularly in Buenos Aires- between the 1950s and 1970s were classified under the name of "Casas Blancas" [White Houses]. Its common denominator was the interest to constitute a "national architecture". However, far from being a movement, a manifesto or a school, the "casablanquistas" [whitehouses producers] were a heterogeneous group of architects with different political, social and religious backgrounds but with a convergent reflection on the critics that modern architecture was beginning to experience worldwide.
