Expressiveness of the image: scopic regime, spatiality and sensitivities

In this article we share reflections from a photography workshop carried out with a group of young of subaltern sectors who live in socio-segregation contexts. The workshop, as research methodology, arises from the need to enable the deployment of other ways of expression, alternative to the word, that would allow approach the sensitive dimensions of subject´s experiences. We proposed a photography workshop considering the materiality of images is a way to approach the "scopic regime", the ways that contemporary capitalism configures the visual sense; understanding the senses as an object of daily, temporary and incomplete regulation. First we will address some theoretical considerations on the specificity of the technique and its product: the photograph as object in relation to the possibilities of expression. After, we will outline a reading scheme from the contributions of Adrian SCRIBANO, Roland BARTHES and John BERGER. Finally we discuss some results through a reading on the spatialities, mobilities and sensitivities raised in the images.
