Resumen:
With the aim of finding an application in construction for waste rubber and plastic, an inter-institutional and multi-disciplinary project has been generated to seek the development of a building element such as the roof tile. Throughout the development of the project, it has been seen that these elements have behaved very well in different types of tests; however, a number of drawbacks have shown up in tests designed to ascertain their behavior when faced with fire. This work presents the results of tests conducted on roof tiles with different formulations and the progress achieved in improving the tiles´ behavior when in contact with fire. The first results allow us to provide valid alternatives and contribute to sustainable construction.
