FEED DISTRIBUTION STRATEGIES FOR THE ATR OF CH4: A COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS

A simulation study of the ATR of CH4 for four different reactor designs is presented. Eachdesign represents a different option for O2 feeding. The reactor performance is analyzed bymeans of a 1-D, pseudo-homogeneous model considering a Varying Degree of Reduction ofthe Ni catalyst. The results suggest that the hot spots are closely related to the degree ofreduction of the catalyst, which is strongly affected by the feed-distribution strategy.
