When a fan is turned on in a Heating Ventilating and Air Conditioning (HVAC) duct, a transient airflow pattern occurs, and is then followed by a steady state condition at constant air flow rate. Understanding the particle resuspension in this airflow scenario could prevent contamination of the surrounding environment such as the contamination of indoor air by fungal spores (Liu et al,2020).The goal of this work is to analyse the resuspension kinetics, i.e. to evaluate the time evolution of this phenomenon along with the instantaneous properties of the airflow pattern. To achieve this goal, we adapt an already existing Monte Carlo (MC) numerical model in order to take into account the influence of the airflow properties during the acceleration (Benito et al, 2016). Numerical results will be also compared with resuspension experiments performed in a ventilated duct (Theron et al, 2020).
