Resumen:
How can a cell distinguish between activating Akt in order to trigger some cell functions but not others (i.e. stimulating cell survival or cell division or protein translation or cell migration or cell invasion, etc.)? Or to distinguish between activating Akt in order to target some substrates but not others? Can we explain and predict that by extracting information from the spatio-temporal dynamics of Akt relocalization? Or by analyzing Akt1/2/3 single cell ratios? Are there different and specific spatio-temporal dynamics of Akt relocalization for different cell stimuli? Can we predict cell fate, or cell resistance to antitumoral drugs by analyzing patterns of Akt subcellular localization and isoform abundance? Are cell lines with increased cell to cell variation in Akt subcellular localization more prone to develop resistance against antitumor drugs?
