Resumen:
From age and metallicity estimates obtained for the mostdominant sub-population (or ?representative? population) in the stellarpopulation mix of the Large Magellanic Cloud, we produce a compre-hensive star field Age-Metallicity Relationship (AMR) from the birth ofthe galaxy until ∼ 1 Gyr ago. This AMR surprisingly reveals that theLMC have not chemically evolved as a closed-box or bursting system, exclusively, but as a combination of both scenarios that have had dif-ferent prominences along the lifetime of the galaxy. In this sence, weprovide with the first evidence that the LMC has undergone not onlythe well-known bursting formation event at ∼ 2.5 Gyr, but also otherenhanced formation episodes from its early epoch. When star field andcluster AMRs are compared, we find that they show a satisfactory matchonly for the last 3 Gyr, while for older ages the cluster AMR is a lowerenvelope of the field AMR. Finally, we find no metallicity grandient tosurvive in the LMC.
