Ni-La-Me catalysts (Me = Ti, Zr) were synthesized by the polymeric precursor method, containing 12 wt.% nickel, characterized by XRD, BET area, H2-TPR, ICP, H2 chemisorption and tested in the methane tri-reforming using a model flue gas of a natural gas thermal power plant as a source of H2O, CO2 and O2. The catalysts prepared have high activity in the methane tri-reforming. At 700 ° C, the CH4 conversion was kept constant in the 5 hours of reaction, being higher NiLaTi catalyst.The CO2 conversion of NiLaZr catalyst decreases progressively. The best performance of NiLaTi catalyst is attributed to the bigger specific area and a stronger metal-support interaction. Studies currently under development will allow quantification of the deactivation phenomena associated with this type of reactions.
