Resumen:
This work presents a new software-based dead-time compensationmethod for current-controlled grid-connected PWMinverters. The dead-time disturbance modeling issues sparsely treated in previous works are herein explained, and novel insightful aspects are introduced. As a result of this study, a more complete and unified non-linear model of the deadtime disturbance is obtained, which also contemplates the effects around current zero-crossing points. This model is then used for on-line generation of a  feed-forward compensation signal. A novel closed-loop adaptive control scheme is proposed for fine tuning in real time the non-linear model. The algorithm implementation is straightforward and computationally efficient. Simulation results of  the compensation scheme applied to a 10kW grid-connected CC-VSI are presented, showing that  low and high order harmonics produced by dead times can be effectively rejected, so the strict power quality requirements of current grid interconnection standards can be easily met.
