Resumen:
In this work a dimensioning method for oscillating arm-float wave energy converters (WEC) is proposed. The methodology is based on a semi-parametric hydrodynamic model which allows to relate a given wave climate to the fundamental parameters of the device associated with its power absorption capability. Moreover, by deriving the WEC annual energy production, a general approach to determine the device capacity is given which aims to avoid over-dimensioning of the installed power.
