?Relationships to the World? or ?Forms of Life?? A Counterpoint between Hartmut Rosa?s and Rahel Jaeggi?s Approaches to Critical Theory

The original aim of my presentation was to give a complete overview ofthe hermeneutic-pragmatic social ontologies that are at the core of Jaeggi?sand Rosa?s approaches to Critical Theory, namely, the theory of ?forms of life?and that of ?relationships to the world?. However, since we only have 15minutes to talk, I will devote my short presentation to two more modest tasks. First(1), I will attempt to answer the question as to why Rosa and Jaeggi considerit necessary to develop such social ontological accounts. Second (2), I will verybriefly present the main traits of Jaeggi?s account of ?forms of life?.
