Resumen:
One relevant issue for industrial processes is makingbatteries lighter and with high power densities. That is an essential featurerequired for electrical vehicles. The challenge consists on working to improvethe power density of active materials for cathodes such as LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4.This has been tested as a high-voltage cathode with discharge potential plateauof approximately 4.7 V versus lithium.       This workpresents the synthesis and characterization of LiNi0.5Mn1.5O4(LNMO) materials using the solid-state method, by mixing stoichiometricproportions of NiO, MnCO3 and Li2CO3 withdifferent thermal treatments in an oxygen atmosphere. The materials have beentested electrochemically by charge-discharge cycling, cyclic voltammetry (CV)and rate capability. Looking for a detailed structural characterization, thesamples obtained have been also characterized by X-Ray PhotoelectronSpectroscopy (XPS) and X-Ray Diffraction (XRD).
