Resumen:
The aim of this presentation is to analyse strategies of mobility and use of space employed by the agropastoralist groups that lived in the Antofagasta de la Sierra Micro-region between ca. 2300 and 420 years BP. As a hypothesis we suggest that during this time different cultural strategies where developed concerning the management of domesticated animals and the acquisition of wild resources as a response to variations in the environmental, political and economic contexts of the study area. The method employed is that of stable isotope analysis using the carbon and nitrogen values of modern and prehistoric camelids (vicuñas and llamas) and of plants collected across the different ecological sectors of the study area.
