Resumen:
The aim of this work is to analyze the existence of the Jewish gerousia in Roman Alexandria during the first decades of the first century AD, on the basis of the relationship between P. Yale II, 107 and Philo?s Flaccus 74-76 y 80. For this purpose, we will try to trace the term gerousia and the vocabulary related to the council in the aforementioned Greek papyrus and in the Philonic treatise, in order to examine the data about its presence in Roman Alexandria. The joint reading of P. Yale II, 107 and Philo?s passages, in addition to their historical and social contextualization and their communication with other contemporaneous sources about the events that they point out, will also allow us to discuss the framework of technical terms, names of places and political figures, that provide information about the ethnic identity of the gerousia and its situation during years 37 and 38.
