Resumen:
In this paper we reported a chick Gentoo Penguin Pygoscelis papua with a beak deformation, which involved the upper mandible in an Antarctic colony located in South Shetland Islands. Although the prevalence of this abnormality is increasing, the reasons for this event are not simple to determinate. However, as environmental issues are one of the causes of malformation, we consider valuable to continue reporting this sort of cases.
