Resumen:
This  paper  explores  the  characteristics  of  human  occupation  in  the  area  of  the  Argentine-‐ Chilean  international  boundary,  Andes  cordillera  (northwest  of  San  Juan´s  province).  Characteristics  of   human  occupation  of  these  height  environments  and  changes  in  subsistence  strategies  that  occurred   during  the  mid  Holocene  are  evaluated.  The  study  is  based  on  the  record  analysis  of  a  site  located  in  a   seasonally  rich  resources  environment.  It  is  sought  to  contribute  to  the  knowledge  on  the  functioning   and  the  variability  of  the  socio-‐cultural  systems  of  the  past  in  Andean  environments  of  the  south  end  of   the  Northwest  Argentina  (NOA).  The  problem  is  approached  from  studies  of  the  organization  of  lithic   technology,  and  osteometric  analysis  of  samples  recovered  at  the  ARQ-18  site.
