Resumen:
EVALUATION OF HIPPOCAMPAL AND PERIPHERAL LEVELS OF GSK-3β IN BALB/C MICE EXPOSURE TO CHRONIC MILD STRESS. REVERSION WITH GLATIRAMER ACETATE.María Micaela Castro1, Alejandro David Moroni1, María Laura Palumbo1.(1) CIT NOBA-UNNOBA-UNSAdA-CONICET. CIBA-UNNOBA. The glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK-3 β) is an enzyme that belongs to the glycogen enzymatic pathway and has been related to neuronal plasticity, neurodevelopment and in different psychiatric disorders. A decrease in GSK-3β has been observed in the lymphocytes of schizophrenic patients. The balance between pGSK-3β (phosphorylated, inactive) and tGSK-3β (total, active) is being heavily studied in Alzheimer´s disease. Moreover, in a previous work, we found that GA reverted cognitive deficit induced by chronic stress and other neuroimmune parameters. The aim of the present work was to study the levels of GSK-3 β in hippocampus, spleen and lymph nodes of female BALB/c mice exposed to chronic mild stress (CMS) model. Moreover, study the effect of GA treatment in CMS BALB/c mice. As we previously reported, confirmed a poor performance in the open field in CMS mice with respect to control mice. The mRNA levels of GSK-3β were analysed by qRT-PCR. We found a GSK-3 β decrease in hippocampus of CMS mice (p
