Resumen:
Rischbieter M., R. Neregato, M.M. di Pasquo, R. Iannuzzi, R. Alvarenga, 2018. First palynological and paleobotanical records of the uppermost Rio Bonito Formation (Lower Permian, Paraná Basin) in Alfredo Wagner ? Santa Catarina State, southern Brazil. XVII Simposio Argentino de Paleobotánica y Palinología, Paraná (Entre Ríos, Argentina, 30 de julio al 05 de agosto). This contribuVon deals with the paleoflorisVc and palynologic analysis of the Siderópolis Member ofthe Rio Bonito FormaVon at Alfredo Wagner. Materials were obtained from the upper part of thisunit, composed of sandstones, shales and coals, interpreted as a coastal environment, formed byfluvio-deltaic-estuarine and shallow marine pla¬orm. The paleobotanical assemblage comprisesorgans and fragmentary plants, including two types of lycophyte stems, whorls of sphenophyllaleans, fern fronds, glossopterid and cordaitalean leaves, frucVficaVons, seeds and possible bracts. Followingstandard methodologies, this invesVgaVon revealed a rich and well preserved microflora, with triletespores comprising 51% of the assemblage represenVng 17 genera and 26 species, and pollen grainscomprising 49% of the assemblage represenVng 15 genera and 25 species. Based on some diagnosVcmegaflora taxa (Sphenophyllum cf. S. brasiliensis, Pecopteris pedrasica, Glossopteris spp., Cornucarpuspatagonicus, Samaropsis cf. S. mendesii, Cheirophyllum sp.) and the microfloral assemblage(Horriditriletes curvibaculosus, Gondisporites serrulatus, Murospora bicingulata, Lophotriletespseudoaculeatus, Protohaploxypinus rugatus, Vipa0na costabilis), the Siderópolis Member at AlfredoWagner is biostraVgraphically assigned to the Sakmarian?ArVnskian and correlated to the basalGlossopteris-Brasilodendron floral stage and to the Protohaploxypinus goraiensis Subzone of theVipa0na costabilis Zone as proposed previously for the Paraná Basin. Curiously, the megaflorapresents a mixture of taxa previously restricted to the underlying Itararé Group with other typicallyrecovered in the Rio Bonito FormaVon, as well as taxa usually found in assemblages located to thenorth and to the south of the basin.*Project supported by CNPq (PQ 312747/2017-9, 430096/2016-0).
