Resumen:
The mafic-ultramafic belt of the Sierras de San Luis is known for its associated base metal sulphide mineralisation (EMS), which also bear platinum group minerals (PGM).These rocks occur as lenses included in the metamorphic basement of the Sierras Orientales of San Luis. Regional systematic and detailed gravimetric, magnetometric and escintillometric surveys were carried out in order to elucidate the shape, size and position of the mafic-ultramafic rocks, the magnitude of the associated base metal sulphide mineralization and the spatial relationship between both entit ies. These results are the first of this type for the Las Aguilas - Virorco - El Fierro area.
