Resumen:
This paper analyzes the dynamics of cellproliferation in the developing central nervous system. Threedifferent algorithms, Fano Factor, Allan Factor and DetrendedFluctuations Analysis, are used to estimate de scaling exponentof space numerical series obtained by recording the numberand position of proliferating cells along the cephalic-caudalaxis of the system. It can be concluded that the dynamics ofproliferation involves two component: (a) a random noncorrelatedstochastic component representing a basalproliferating activity uniformly distributed along the cephaliccaudalaxis and (b) a deterministic non-stationary componentthat imposes a defined global trend to the process. Thedeterministic non-stationary trend can be interpreted as theeffect of a controlling influence operating along the cephaliccaudalaxis. This result indicates that the proliferative activityis spatially organized along the cephalic-caudal axis of thesystem.
