Resumen:
In this article, the Eigenfaces theory, also known in the literature as Principal Components Analisis or Karhunen-Loève Expansion, is here presented in the context of an aplication tool for identificationof southern elephant seal specimens from its face photographies. The mathematical formulation is presented as a theoretic basis for the proposal method. Also a complete set of empirical results are displayed showing the effectiveness of the implemented technique.
