Resumen:
We present a simple experimental setup to study the velocity profile in a rectangular closed conduit.Particle image velocimetry was applied to obtain the velocity profiles for several values of aspectratios and for different flow rates. The velocity profile is obtained in the central longitudinal planeof the conduit and in the downstream region where the flow is fully developed. Close agreementbetween experimental results and theoretical predictions is found.
