Resumen:
Titanium Oxide (TiO2) doped with Itrium oxide (Y2O3) was prepared by means of sol-gel technique using as precursors titanium isopropoxide and yttrium acetyl acetonate and as hydrolysis agent bidistilled water at pH=6. The samples were characterized by Raman Spectroscopy, Scanning Electron Microscopy and Photoelectron Spectroscopy. Solids Y2O3?TiO2 composite oxides, were tested in photodegaradation of azo dye (tartrazine). The presence of yttrium stabilize anatase phase of TiO2, and increase its photocatalytic eficiency, thus obtaining the best rate of degradation for photocatalyst with 4% w/w of Y2O3.
