Resumen:
The imitation process, although depicted in the literature as an alternative to innovation, is more precisely represented as part of the innovation process itself. Innovation develops through imitation, and successful imitation might require a great deal of innovation as well. It was based on this belief that we issued the call for papers for this special issue. We wanted to provide an appropriate forum to deepen our understanding of the innovation process taking into special account the links between imitation and innovation.
