Resumen:
Evidences of magma mixing in the miocene subvolcanic intrusive bodies in Huachichocana, Eastern Cordillera from northwestern Argentine. The Huachichocana Andesite is a subvolcanic body of Miocene age located in the Eastern Cordillera, near the town of Purmamarca. It consists of a rock composed mainly of phenocrysts of plagioclase, amphibole and biotite and its chemical composition is characterized by its very high Sr content. The Huachichocana magmatic event has been little studied, and the main features of the intrusive are unknown. Therefore, this study provides in a preliminary way new field and petrographic analyses and mineral chemistry data of one of the most oriental manifestations of Neogene magmatism of this region of the Central Andes.
