Antifungal activity of Solidago chilensis against postharvest phytopathogenic fungi

The continuous and excessive use of synthetics fungicides in postharvested fruits causes dangerous consequences to the environment and the human health. In this context, exploring natural sources based on native plant extracts, turns out to be of great economic and social importance. Solidago chilensis Meyen, an Argentinean native species with previously reported human antifungal properties, was evaluated against two peach phytopathogenic fungi: Monilinia fructicola and Rhizopus stolonifer.
