Resumen:
In this presentation, I would like to pursue a reflection on socio-legal analysis as a mode of knowledge-production and circulation about the law and law-making. In other words, I propose to reflect on how socio-legal scholars approach the study of law, law-making institutions, legal practice and legal materials, and so forth, and in doing so, their gaze affect their research subjects. This point may recall old debates in social science over the researcher?s position in the field, namely, naturalism versus positivism (Guber 2011). Nonetheless, in this presentation, I want to leave aside this kind of dichotomy and instead, focus on some theoretical and methodological contributions that in my understanding advance a reflection of the production of knowledge about the law, legal discourse, practices, institutions, actors, etc. as a situated practice, following Donna Haraway´s insight that all gazes are from somewhere (1988).
