Resumen:
In tumor development and maintenance of a cancerous phenotype, bidirectional communication between epithelial cells and stromal environment is necessary. We recently demonstrated that human adipose tissue around kidney tumor (hRAT), showed a differential protein expression profile respect to adipose tissue from normal kidney (hRAN). In the present work, we evaluated: 1) hRAT vs. hRAN adipocytes size using Image J program. In tumor (786-O, ACHN, Caki-1) and non tumor (HK-2) renal epithelial cells incubated for 2 or 24 hs with hRAN-, hRAT, or control-CMs we evaluated: 2) Epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) markers: vimentin, desmin, N-cadherin and 3) pRB/RB and ciclin D1. The tissue explants were obtained from patients with tumor kidney (hRAT, n=14) and kidney donors (hRAN, n=13). The CMs of hRAN and hRAT were collected 24 hs post incubation and the cells were treated. The expression of vimentin, desmin, N-cadherin, pRB/RB and cyclin D1 was quantified by western blot. Statistical differences among the groups were evaluated by one-way ANOVA with Tukey´s post hoc tests. The hRAT adipocytes showed a significantly minor size compared to hRAN adipocytes (p
