Resumen:
Magma flow pattern of granite plutons and their morphology at depth are established from structural studies and gravity data, respectively. This contribution presents preliminary results from a gravity survey in the Calmayo trondhjemite, a small Famatinian pluton located in the eastern Sierras Pampeanas at C¨®rdoba. The map of residuals is characterized by a negative anomaly reaching 3.5 mGal. By using a two-layer model and reference densities of 2,64 gr/cm3 for the trondhjemites and 2.78¡À 0.04 g/cm3 for the country rocks, such gravity anomaly reveals a sheet-like geometry with a thickness of ¡Ö 400 m and a possible root zone, extending 1.2 km down, below the central sector of the pluton. This new gravity information is combined with field and anisotropy of the magnetic susceptibility data from the Calmayo pluton - and contrasted against results of a previous study from the El Hongo trondhjemite - in order to discuss the possible influence of the Soconcho shear zone in the ascent and emplacement of the magma.
