Resumen:
This paper presents aremarkable example of stockwork-type mineralization no economic interest inSierras de C6rdoba, outcropping for more than 5 km2 within the Guacha Corralshear zone and the Cerro Aspero batholith. Field evidences reveal that thestockwork formation postdates the emplacement of Los Cerros pluton, lastgranitic unit of the Devonian Cerro Aspero batholith, in which northern portionthe homonym wolfram district is located. The mineralization occurs as a networkof thin veinlets of 0,5 to 6,0 cm in width, filled with massive-crustiformquartz containing disseminated pyrite. Mineral precipitation was derived fromaqueous-carbonic fluids which also gave rise to a penetrative phyllicalteration of the wallrock. It is interpreted that the formation of thisstockwork-type mineralization could have been controlled by the emplacement ofnon-exhumed granitic plutons during a regional stress regime related to theAchalian orogeny.
