Resumen:
A distributed sensor instrument, as the Pierre Auger Observatory, heavily relies on a communication system to coordinate its components and carry the collected data for processing. Unfortunately, the existing communication system can not be scaled up to include Auger enhancements. A new, parallel wireless network, using standard 802.11 technology is proposed. In order to have it properly working, several factors were taken into account so as to minimize response-time and bit-rate problems, as well as assuring reliability.
