Resumen:
In this paper we present an electronic interfacecreated for the Nikon 6B/6D visual autocollimator which allowsfor an increase in the final resolution of measurements and areduction of the vignetting and distortion effects produced bythis optical instrument?s lenses. The electronic interface consistsof a Basler ACE HD camera and its positioning devices, and acomputer with a sub-pixel digital image processing package. Thelatter includes two main procedures: one for scale calibrationand the other for determining the position of crosshair lines.Both procedures work at sub-pixel level. The feasibility of themeasurement method was verified. The resolution obtained forthe measurement of angular displacements is about 0.019 secondsof arc, 25 times better than the one registered by the originalvisual system. Its overall performance was compared against anelectronic level with internationally traceable certification.
