Resumen:
If we go back to consider Tiempo de revancha apart from the perspective that the later films award it, it is possible to notice some negative elements that were not so evident at the time. Twenty years after it premiered, the film shows certain signs of wear: some dialogues hint at the use of local customs as a genre that is so characteristic of Aries productions and more than one dramatic situation that resolves itself by means of a tendency for the discursive that he would accentuate in his later films. Nevertheless, his perfect narrative mechanism is still in tact, the potency of his rebelliousness and his capacity to reflect the social discontent that the country suffered from in the early 1980s. In this sense, he deals with a crucial moment not only because it definitively consolidated the professional prestige of the director, but also because it is evidence of the beginning of a reaction to the military regime that would emerge more fully the following year with the defeat in the Malvinas War.
