The article reflects on certain areas of Latin Americanist criticism and its specific debates between the 1980s and 1990s, which share a common feature: to think about their own languages and their relations with the object of study in the framework of the post-dictatorships of the region on the one hand, and the internationalization of their practice on the other. The approach will be meta-critical, analyzing this process of transformation and debate of Latin Americanism. Methodologically, a brief tour through its main points is proposed, to conclude by exposing the construction operations of a new critical language politics.
