Resumen:
Taurocusporites quattrocchiensis, e new species of trilete spore genus Taurocusporites Stover 1962, emend. Playford & Dettmann, 1965, is described from the Middle Jurassic (Lajas Formation) of the Neuquén Basin, Argentine. This specie is characterized by an ellipsoidal to subcircular equatorial outline, equatorial thickening (cingulum), essentially simple laesurae with bifurcate distal endings, densely verrucate proximal surface, and a distal trizonate surface. The microfloristic association are characterized by the presence of palynomorphs belong to Cheirolepidiaceae, ferns, Lycopodiales and Selaginellales. Podocarpaceae, Araucariaceae and paleomicroplankton are present in a subordinate manner. For the studied levels, the palynofacial analysis allow to infer a near shore paleoenvironment.
