Resumen:
Bioengineering is a multidisciplinary program. Withits foundations in basic science, Bioengineering applies differenttechnological principles in order to solve problems in the healtharea. Mathematics, thanks to its methodological and conceptualinsights, is an invaluable tool not only in the education of futurebioengineers, but also in their professional activities. However,Mathematics courses represent an obstacle to many engineeringstudents. Enhancing the teaching of Mathematics in this context isa need and a challenge for teachers. In this work, problem-solvingactivities that were carried out in a Differential Equations courseare described. They aimed at fostering both the development of thestudents learning strategies, and the linking of mathematicalconcepts and methods to other areas. We focused on the possibilityof bridging the gap between Differential Equations and ProcessControl through integrative problem-solving activities thatarticulate both perspectives and modes of thought.
