Resumen:
The role of diet in preventing chronic diseases and improving quality of life is one of the majorchanges facing the concept of "personalized nutrition". For adapting foods for specific nutritional requirements it willbe needed to have well-characterized raw materials to select the right choice. Understanding the metabolism of theorgans of plants would enable implementation of the manipulation of genetic engineering to obtain raw materialsof defined nutritional characteristics. Asr transcription factor family (abscisic acid, stress and ripening) is widelydistributed in higher plants. Isolated evidences suggest these proteins to be involved in a common transductionpathway of carbohydrates and ABA signaling. Understanding the functionality of these proteins will render in their usefor metabolic engineer approaches.
