Resumen:
One way to produce hydrogen to be used in PEM cells is by means of steam reforming or autothermal reforming of hydrocarbons. Generally, this step is followed by the Water Gas Shift reaction, where the hydrogen stream is purified. However, the effluent of the WGS reaction contains around 1%CO and it could poison the cell anode. The CO preferential oxidation is an adequate method to reduce the CO concentration to less than 10 ppm [1]. In this work, three kinds of structured catalysts were prepared over cordierite monoliths to be used in the COPROX reaction: Co/ZrO 2 , Co/CeO 2 and MnCoCeOx. Moreover, the catalysts were characterized by Laser Raman spectroscopy, XPS, XRD and SEM.
