An optimization approach for plant-wide control tuning is applied to a reaction / separation / recycle system. Proportional - Integral control loops parameters that provide local feedback stability are obtained as result of a non-linear optimization problem in order to provide optimum transient response speed within Lyapunov?s stability theory.>
