Resumen:
This article analyzes the timing of arrival, nationality and activities of foreign firms in Argentina. Considering firms as analytical units, we have identified the home country, starting date, the kind of business activities and the type of organization adopted by the foreign corporations that arrived in Argentina since the beginning of the golden age of international investments until its decline in the second postwar period. Considering the shift in international business provoked by the Great War and the ensuing Great Depression, this study explores two questions: Which activities were developed by the international firms in Argentina? Were they representative of particular nation?s investments?
