Resumen:
Abstract TRITIUM AND STABLE ISOTOPES IN PRECIPITATION WATER IN SOUTH AMERICA In This work the tritium, oxygen-18 and deuterium contents data in rainwater in South America are compiled and analysed these data were obtained from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and world Meteorological Organization (WMO) network. Two Antarctic and some information on the south hemisphere´s stations is included. From the tritium data of the available stations with complete records, they can be grouped ¡n: equatorials, middle latitudes and Antarctic. In each group the tritium concentration of the different stations are correlated by linear regression. The mean residence time of tritium in the atmosphere, in the southern hemisphere, is established. From the stable isotopes data the local meteoric line is given, also the variation of the average isotopic contents with temperature is determined. A good correlation of isotopic abundances with amount of precipitation is obtained.
