ABSTRACT: This work presents the status of the Stable Isotope Laboratory of the Institituto de Geocronología y Geología isotópica (INGEIS) as well as the experimental technique used in the determination of d13C in carbonate samples. Also,the firsts 82 d13C analyses are presented. The major part of them belong to samples used in the calibration of the mass spectrometer and the extraction systems. The remaining correspond to shell samples dated by C14 that were 13C corrected and to standard samples to be used as references in the laboratory
