Resumen:
Infectious BursalDiseaseVirus(IBDV)causesahighlyrelevantpoultrydiseasethataffectsyoungchickens causing,amongothereffects,immunosuppression.IBDVisabi-segmenteddoublestrandedRNAvirus.ThesmallerORFoflargerRNAsegmentencodesVP5,a17-kDanon-structuralprotein.Although itisanimportantproteinforviralreplicationcycle,thedefinition ofitsspecific roleandsubcellular localizationremainsunclear.In thepresentworkwedemonstrate,usingimagingtechniques,thatVP5isnotatypeIItransmembraneproteinbutanintracellularmembrane-associatedprotein.This finding mightprovideevidences ofVP5interactionwithcellularproteinsanditsfunctions.
