Don't let the tortoise escape you

I will summarize our ongoing efforts to track and monitor a vulnerable species, Chelonoidis chilensis, the southernmost tortoise in the Patagonian steppe. We have joined forces with biologists and engineers in an interdisciplinary team, with the purpose of designing and building the necessary devices, to carry out the field work, and to analyse the gathered data. Two field seasons have already provided our first results, which will be discussed briefly.
