This work presents a resume of the effort to improve the operation of molecular electronics devices, which include: basic studies of the interface electrode-molecule (self assembled process of isocyanides on nickel electrodes as new combination of chemical linkage groups and metal electrodes),[1] molecular assembly (layer-by-layer approach to fabricate multilayers of cofacially aligned porphyrins on solid supports),[2] Electronics studies of new molecular electronic component investigated by STM (room and low temperature) and cross-bar devices.[3] Finally will be described the application of molecular rectifiers as single molecule detectors.[4]
