Resumen:
The Puna vegetation in the valley of Rio Cazaderos, CAtamarca, Argentina, between 3600-4300 m s.m., was studied from the phytosocoiological point of view, Fifty-five floristic relevés following the Braun-Blanquet method were made and arranged in a table. The floristical relevés include xeric and wetland vegetation. Two altitudinal zones are proposed: a lower elevatioon shrub zone, between 3600-3800 m dominated by Acantholippia punensis community, and a higher elevation zone, between 3800-4100 m, characterized by the Stipa chrysophylla community.
