Resumen:
The co-processing of the viscous fractions (tar) in the mesquite (TARM) and cow manure (TARC) pyrolysis oils together with vaccum gas oil (VGO) under catalytic cracking (FCC) conditions was studied to determine the effects of the addition of tar on conversion and product distributions. Experiments were performed in a laboratory batch fluidized bed reactor (CREC Riser Simulator) with 5 and 10% tar added to VGO, 4 to 16 s reaction times and cat/oil relationship of 3. Two equilibrium comercial catalysts were used, of the gasoline (Ecat-D) and middle distillates (Ecat-DI) types. Reaction products were analyzed by on-line FID GC and coke yield by TPO. Conversion was defined as the addition of dry gases (C1-C2), LPG (C3-C4), Gasoline (C5-nC12) and Coke. These calculations did not include water, carbon oxides and hydrogen yields.
