Resumen:
Recently, scientists began to inquire about the relationship between social competence and social information processing since an integrative perspective. Lemerise & Arsenio (2000) proposed an integrated model of emotion processes and cognition in social information processing (SIP), they consider that individual differences in emotionality and emotional regulation can influence each step of SIP. We did not found investigations that examine this relation in our social environment. In consequence, this study pretend to analyse the evolution of the relation between social competence and social information processing, focusing in emotional regulation in children ages 3, 5 and 7 years from different economic backgrounds (Cordoba city, Argentina). We used a transversal evolutive design; it involves simultaneous evaluations into three age groups (3, 5 and 7). Children are evaluated in several tasks: SIP tasks (vignettes) and activities referred to emotional regulation. Parents and teachers complete questionnaires about different aspects with regard to children: emotional regulation, behavior evaluation, social competence and infantile behavior. Beside, parents will complete a questionnaire above demographic aspects. Through this study we would like can observe the evolution of relation on analysis and examine the mediator role of temperament, and the contribution of socio-economic factors. This work will allow advancing in the comprehension of infantile socio-emotional development and it will have meaningful implications in prevention, intervention and development of socio-sanitary polities. Furthermore it will favor the progress at the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of development alterations.
